Training and Consent – Protective Measures

Canam Training on Preventive Measures and Consent Form

Several Covid-19 prevention measures have been put in place in the various Canam Group facilities to protect employees. We have grouped together all of the health measures implemented and the expected prevention behaviours in a short 8-minute video.

As an employee of Canam Group, it is mandatory to listen to this video before returning to the workplace and afterwards, you must complete the electronic consent form to respect these measures. For the moment, the forms for the Boucherville, Calgary, Mississauga and bridge fabrication plants are available since these are the plants in operation.

Different means of control are taken for employees at the St. Gédéon plant and those with access to jobsites. As more administrative offices are opened for employees, forms will be added.

Click on your facility to complete the correct form.

Reminder of compliance

For employees who have been at work for some time, we remind you that it is very important to continue to follow the measures implemented by Canam. Your vigilance in respecting the instructions must remain constant and not be relaxed for your own protection and that of your colleagues.

Reminder for the protection of us all (hygiene and others)

For the protection of all of us, here is a reminder of the main behaviours to adopt or reinforce:

  • Avoid contact with individuals with symptoms such as fever and cough.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • Respect the rules of social distancing of 2 metres.
  • If you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spread of germs.
  • If you use a tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with your hands.
  • Limit your movements to the essentials.

Numerous measures are in place at all of our sites to protect our colleagues who continue to work and to promote a safe return for all. Here is an overview of these measures:

  • Limiting and controlling access to sites, including administrative offices;
  • Teleworking for office employees;
  • Preventive industrial disinfection of manufacturing facilities every 48 to 72 hours;
  • Truck drivers (Canam and others) must comply with certain restrictions when unloading or loading the truck.

In addition to these measures, Canam has implemented protocols for cases of COVID-19 that would occur in our facilities and one for coworkers who would be in contact with a diagnosed person.

These measures have only one objective: to protect the health of our colleagues.
