Instructions — Telework

Update of March 19

Teleworking, Internal Mail and Equipment Transfer

IT assistance services will now be offered essentially remotely except in case of a major emergency, in order to respect the rules of social distancing.

  • Canam offers tips and guides for the installation of equipment or software at home.
  • Through certain rules and precautions that will be explained to you by the IT Department, the distribution or transfer of equipment, accessories, work tools can be done at your workplace.

If you present symptoms related to the COVID-19 (fever, cough, respiratory problems), we ask you to respect the rules already issued by Canam and not show up at work either to retrieve or bring in computer equipment.

The same rules apply if you need to transfer other documents or items with colleagues. The transfer area will be located at the reception desk of our locations.

Please note that, to date, no cases have been identified in all of Canam Group’s locations.

Marc will share some activity indicators affecting Canam in a video that will be made available Friday morning.

Telework

We ask all employees who choose to work from home and do not have a laptop, to remotely connect to your Canam computer from your home computer instead of moving your desktop computer. If you do not have a personal computer, you must obtain permission from your supervisor before moving your desktop computer.

Connecting from your personal computer will help streamline our systems, your cooperation is essential to maintain our operations. Here is the procedure to connect remotely to your Canam workstation.

The performance might not be the same as it is at work. Avoid calling technical support for this reason.

Update of March 15, 2020

  • The following measures concerning telework take precedence over those of March 13.
  • All of the following measures are intended to prevent the spread of COVID-19, particularly to protect colleagues with critical and essential positions to continue our activities, such as our colleagues assigned to production work.
  • We will keep you informed of changes and continue to update the section of the website dedicated to this purpose at groupecanam.com/coronavirus.

Telework for all employees who have the opportunity to do so

  • In order to test the capacity of our remote connection systems and procedures with a view to possibly limiting the number of people in our establishments and to protect colleagues with critical and essential positions, we request that, as of Monday, March 16, all employees who can telework do so.
  • You may be required to report to work on Monday to make arrangements with your supervisor and work out some technical details. This measure is not permanent at this time. We will keep you informed of the results of these tests.
  • If you will be teleworking on Monday, we invite you to inform your supervisor and your institution’s Human Resources Department by email.
