A Shaved-Head Challenge by Canam Employees in Beauce

January 23, 2020

Since mid-December, more than 100 employees and spouses of Canam in the Beauce region have shaved their hair to raise funds for the Cancer Research Society. In total, Canam Group will donate $50,000 to the Society on behalf of this group of employees, and it should be noted that another $50,000 was raised in December by Canam employees in the Montreal region.

A day that paid off for the cause

On Tuesday, January 21 alone, close to 60 members of the Canam team have contributed their hair to the cause of cancer during an activity organized at the St. Gédéon-de-Beauce plant. “I challenged my colleagues to get shaved in exchange for an amount donated by Canam to the Cancer Research Society. Their generosity was such that more than 10% of all our employees in Beauce took up the challenge. I am very proud of them, but also that they took advantage of this opportunity to create a unifying event. Congratulations to all!” said Marc Dutil, President and CEO of Canam Group, who also contributed by shaving his hair.

Couples, fathers with their son or daughter or entire work teams wanted to do this gesture for the cause of cancer, which affects everyone in one way or another at some point in their lives. People who would like to make a donation can do so directly on the Cancer Research Society website.

Congratulations to all for this meaningful gesture!
