Canam-Bridges to Give a Technical Presentation at the CSCE Annual Conference

May 20, 2015

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) will hold its annual conference in Regina, Saskatchewan, next May 27-30, 2015. During this event, Canam-Bridges engineering intern Maxime Ampleman, who is currently pursuing his master’s degree, will give a presentation entitled Long-Term Slip Resistance of Metallized Faying Surfaces used with High Strength Bolted Connections.

The presentation discusses an investigation of the long-term sustained tension creep performance of metallized faying surfaces used with slip-critical connections, the findings of which indicate significant slip and creep performance, and are likely to influence future revisions of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code. An article on this subject will also be published on the conference website in June.

Founded in 1887 by eminent Canadian civil engineers, the CSCE is a learned society created to develop and maintain high standards of civil engineering practice in Canada and to enhance the public image of the civil engineering profession.
