Canam Group Donates $255,702 to United Way
December 14, 2016
The annual United Way campaign was in full swing at Canam Group business locations across Quebec from October 17th to the 28th. Thanks to a variety of fundraising activities (tasting sessions, auctions, casual days, etc.) that were organized by employees, and donations via a payroll deduction program, the 2016 objective of $215,000 was largely surpassed, climbing to a total of $255,702. This amount includes Canam Group’s corporate donation that matched the amount raised by employees.
Employees in Quebec are divided between two major United Way regions:
- The Quebec City and Chaudière-Appalaches (plants and offices located in Quebec City, St. Georges and St. Gédéon de Beauce) where employees raised $81,520.40.
- The Greater Montreal area (plants and offices located in Boucherville, Laval and Boisbriand) where employees raised $49,255.58.
“The great success we achieved for the 2016 United Way campaign could not have been reached without the commitment, dedication and generosity of all employees” mentioned Claude Provost, Senior Vice President, Shared Services and Organizational Development. “I would particularly like to thank our colleagues who do not hesitate to be creative and versatile in fundraising activities. These activities not only help to achieve the desired goals, but to exceed them, and thus help more people in need. It is in the name of all those who will benefit from the results of your efforts that I say thank you!”
