Canam Group Fabricated the Partial Roof of the Stadium Where the Grey Cup Will Be Held
November 25, 2016
The 104th edition of the Grey Cup will be held on November 27 at the BMO Field, home of the Toronto Argonauts. For those unaware, the Grey Cup is the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship game and the name of the trophy awarded to the winning team.
Over the past two years, significant improvements have been made to the stadium. In 2015, the first phase consisted in the construction of an 8,400-seat grandstand, bringing the stadium’s total seating capacity to 30,225 spectators. Afterwards, in 2016 the second phase consisted in the fabrication and installation of a partial roof composed of three canopies over the east, west and south grandstands at the 10-year-old stadium. Following these renovations, BMO Field became the home of the Toronto Argonauts.
It should be recalled that Canam Group, including Canam-Heavy and Central Steel Erectors were awarded the contracts for the design, the fabrication and the erection of steel components for these renovations, which were carried out in two phases.
