Canam Group Plant in Mississauga: 327,000 Working Hours with No Lost-Time Incidents
August 31, 2016
On July 31, the Canam Group plant located in Mississauga, Ontario completed — during the last year — 327,000 working hours with no lost-time incidents. Plant management is very proud to say that they attribute this performance to additional perseverance, motivation, training and especially the team spirit of employees towards all aspects of health and safety.
“Since the implementation of Canam Group’s safety principles along with our participation in the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board’s (WSIB) Safety Groups Program, we have continuously been improving our health and safety policies, procedures and programs”, stated Cathy Hill, Human Resources Manager, Mississauga plant. It goes without saying that employees have an important role to play in the safety of their workplace. According to Cathy Hill, Mississauga employees are willing to work as a team and take responsibility for their own safety and that of their colleagues. “When working in a plant with heavy equipment and material, it is important to look out for one another. You must not hesitate to report any behavior or situation that might lead to an incident so that corrective action is taken immediately” she added.
Congratulations go out to all employees of the Mississauga plant, because health and safety is everyone’s concern!
