Canam Group Receives a Regional OSH Award

November 3, 2015

The Canam Group team in Quebec City received a Grand Prix SST (occupational safety and health award) in the Innovation — Large Companies — Capitale-Nationale category for designing a piece of equipment that controls ergonomic, physical and chemical-related risks as well as reorganizing a workspace that allows employees to carry out their tasks more safely and efficiently. The Quebec City team primarily designs and fabricates structural components used in the construction of steel bridges for the highway, railway and forestry markets.

The Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST), which is Quebec’s workplace health and safety agency, created the Grands Prix SST awards to underline the prevention efforts made by companies and celebrate the achievements of individuals who take health and safety to heart.

Regional winners are now contenders in the scope of the provincial OSH awards, the Gala national des Grands Prix santé et sécurité du travail, that’s slated to be held in Quebec City in spring 2016.
