The striking canopy measures 189 ft (57.6 m) wide, 222 ft (67.6 m) long and stands 66 ft (20.1 m) high.

The selection criteria for this award centered on the identification of “new” solutions to “old” problems, the proper use of emerging methods and openness towards new ideas and technologies.

It was the team’s execution of the terminal canopy, a signature design feature with architecturally exposed steel components, that caught the jury’s attention. Every aspect of this structure, from its design to fabrication and erection, held unique technical challenges. Close collaboration between project partners was key in allowing the team to develop solutions that would save both time and money while also adhering to the construction schedule.
