Canam Group VP François de Paul Nkombou Receives a CPA Award

François de Paul Nkombou, Vice President of Internal Audit and Risk Management at Canam Group, was presented with the 2016 CPA Volunteer Award last February 23rd by the Regroupement des comptables professionnels agréés de la Montérégie, the Montérégie chapter of the Quebec order of chartered professional accountants. The CPA Awards are presented annually to members who distinguish themselves through their outstanding professional and community achievements.
A volunteer in both community and career-related organizations
François de Paul is a dedicated volunteer at various community organizations, such as the Canadian Cancer Society where he is a member of the Board of Directors and chairs on the Audit and Risk Management Committee. He also volunteers at the Bamena Canada Association, which sets up scholarships for certain residents from Cameroun, his country of origin. François de Paul is equally involved with the Réseau des entrepreneurs et professionnels africains (REPAF), a not-for-profit multidisciplined organization whose objective is to build a business network and facilitate the integration of African-born professionals, students and entrepreneurs in the society.
An outspoken advocate of education as a force capable of bridging the divides between different social classes, nations and peoples, whatever their origins, François de Paul was an audit and finance professor at HEC Montréal from 2007 to 2013. He also made a name for himself in 2009 during the transition from generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to international financial reporting standards (IFRS) when he was called upon in an expert capacity.
Moreover, François de Paul is contributing to the advancement of administrative sciences through the research he is conducting in the scope of his doctoral thesis in finance, which explores the means to create economic value in companies through optimal cash management while taking investor behavior into account.
François de Paul’s career path and commitment to volunteerism have made him a model of integration and generosity.
