Both an Honor and a Certification for Tony Bégin
July 4, 2013
During the 2013 annual conference of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE), Tony Bégin, Commercial Development Manager, Canam received the James A. Vance Award. This honor is granted to a member of the CSCE whose dedicated service has furthered the advancement of the Society.
Tony has served as Vice President, Quebec region, on the CSCE Board of Directors since 2006. In June 2013, he was elected as Senior Vice President. He is now responsible for the five vice presidents of the Canadian regions who account for more than 4,000 members. This responsibility will allow him to access the position of National President in 2015.
Certified Development, Design and Construction Professional
In addition, Tony Bégin successfully passed the examination for the title of Certified Development, Design and Construction Professional awarded by the International Council of Shopping Centers. Approximately 400 people across Canada possess this title and Tony is the only employee of Canam Group to hold this entitlement. This certification will bring customers to recognize Tony’s specific expertise in managing the structured development, design and construction process of buildings.
Certification is achieved through mastery of a complex body of knowledge, passage of a rigorous written examination (50% success rate) and commitment to a code of professional ethics. Preparation of the exam is a combination of both experience acquired over the years and knowledge acquired in connection with 60 competency areas organized into eight knowledge domains (finance, design, planning, coordination, cost management, contractual agreement, insurance and risk management).
All of Canam Group employees would like to congratulate Tony for these awards!
