Tony Bégin of Canam Group Awarded Two Prestigious Accolades by the CSCE

Tony Bégin, P.Eng., M. Sc., CDP, FCSCE, Senior Structural Steel Sales Director at Canam-Structures, a division of Canam Group, was recently awarded two prestigious accolades in the scope of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) Annual Conference. Mr. Bégin was presented with the 2017 Walter Shanly Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions by a civil engineer to the development and practice of construction engineering in Canada. He was also designated a CSCE Fellow for his professional achievements, contributions to civil engineering and the leadership he has shown both in the exercise of his profession and as a member of the CSCE.
Mr. Bégin has been deeply involved in the CSCE for over 25 years. In addition to being Past President of the CSCE, he has led several committees and sections over the years, and continues to chair on the Corporate Engagement Committee. Moreover, he actively participated in building the CSCE’s relationship with other organizations, such as the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), Canadian Construction Innovations (CCI) and the Canadian Network of Assets Managers (CNAM), as it is his firm belief that the CSCE has a key role to play in the construction of sustainable infrastructures in Canada.
